Hi all,

Recently replaced (new) master cylinder in '70 Fastback and get good initial feel but a slow fade to the floor occurs if you stay on the brake pedal. Have bled at all wheels but wonder if master needs "bleeding". How can this be done without removal? - pressure bleed?

If it is good when you first step on it, then I doubt you need bled any more.
Sound like something is by-passing internally.
I recently installed a "new" master cylinder on my car, and withing 3 months it was doing what you describe. When I pulled it off, I found that the rubbers inside were hard as rocks.
I put a kit in it, and then it was fine.
It had been sitting on the shelf for too long.

I think you are on to something here Russ. The "new" cylinder did have a long life on the shelf prior to me finding it and installing.
