Looks beautiful. But the back looks higher than in the old pics of it. No motor in yet?

kdfkid Mon Mar 08, 2010 3:42 pm

No,
it is all the same and the engine is installed.

I can't believe it's the same car I saw at Lenny's such a short time ago! And you got the caps on under the skirts

It is looking perfect!

It is always amazing how cool an original version of a car design is. The later versions always lose a little... year over year... the design evolves for various reasons... comfort maybe... or regulations... or due to complaints etc etc.

This original design is SO nice. I do like the later beeskows... but the early coupe I think is the cleanest version of the beeskow.

I also think that the first 356's... the Gmunds and body bumper coupes.. were the best looking 356's

The early Karmann Ghia coupe was by far the best KG...

the first Mustang... the first corvette... etc etc.

Nice to see this one back on the road...

heres some shots of it over time.. one with a rather famous VW personality's dog... and the last one with me sitting in it

The Interieur of the car looks really brilliant. Rolf Bokemeier from the Erker Polstery Shop even made a good Job at the Rometsch Coupe in the Same high quality as the Erker Shop did in the past 30 years for the vintage car szene.

It seems like it is 2-3 inches higher than in the period pictures?

Wiggy Sat Mar 13, 2010 7:25 pm

That is an effect everybody knows who made a frameup restoration: With NOS Shocks, without petrol Inside of the fueltank and without any weight on the axles, every car locks high.

You are absolutely right if you think that the car looks ugly with high suspension. What a luck that the car know it for itself and will come lower after the first ride on the road.

Looks fantastic. Congrats to the entire HO crew.

Would love to see some pics of the finished interior once the front seats are in.
