I know I' m not a barndoor guy nor do I own a split. But I'm very interested in who was Jeff Walters? Was he obsessed with the volkswagen bus? How many barndoors did he have and are there any pictues of them? I'm also excited at the fact that there were 10's of thousands of barndoors made. Who knows how many are still out there some where lurking. Does this excite any of you?

There is a registry of Barndoors. I'm sure there are still some out there undiscovered.

One of about 15 VW enthusiasts that I would consider to be in the first round of collectors and importers, had many contacts early on, cross country trips rounding up early buses before most of us were in grade school. I give him major props for what he did for the industry, he loved Vw's and that is why he did what he did.... in the 80's

The registry counts 788 know barndoors.
By searching the registry I can only find one with Jeff Walters name.
It is an early pick-up 20-038209. No picture, sorry.

Didn't Jeff own your '50 panel before you did Rich?

Yes, photo says Jeff Walters, but I have him not registered as owner or former owner.
