Could someone take a picture of how the original seams looked on a Single Cab bed please.
The seams where just butted together correct?
If there's one in the gallery I couldn't find it, other than mine when Joey and I where trying to clean up the bad welds, picture below? A DPO had "badly" welded the seams together.
I decided to replace the rear halves of the bed as I realized I could never get the original metal straight, even though they don't look to bad in the picture. I have cleaned up the front halves and wanted to make sure they are as close to correct as possible.
Thank You in advance.

They were spot welded to the frame below and seams puddied over. This results in time to cracks in the puddy and the wood slat rivet holes both allow water into the treasure chest.
Welded up the seams in our 1963 SC, and the rivet holes to prevent this. |
