Okay the wipers have never worked since i bought the car and i'm just now starting to dig into the issue. (rain-x just won't cut it) the weird part. with the wipers on fuse 10 (iirc) doesn't blow. but the wipers don't work. It's the same fuse that's connected to the fresh air fan , and the rear defog. both of those work. As soon as i turn the wipers off even with the fresh air fan off and the rear defog off it blows the fuse. WTH . Just looking for some pointers on if it might be wiring, turn signal switch, or wiper motor. It's gonna be a major P.I.T.A no matter what seeing as i'm going to have to yank the a/c to get at any of it. Thanks for any help in advance. (and yes i have the bentley)

You probably have a short if your fuse blows. Maybe some wires may not be installed correctly. In my '63 bug the wiper motor was bad but the fuse never blew, the motor just did not work.

Check that no wires are near each other. I had couple of wires in the fuse box that were shorting, so when I put on the turn signal, only the generator light would flash with the relay, or both the former and indicator lights.
