I found one! The cover for the rear of the Early Bays...Who or how should I go about of getting one for myself…The current one has been weathered and not touched since the 80’s bends but not easily. Should I take it to an interior guy...and have him fabricate one-two? Relatively simple design and I am really shocked that these aren’t (are they?) reproduced. :shock:

Hey Robin, I'll see what I can do...get a few pictures over the day-

I Knew it had to have something because of the loop (tiedowns) up top. But never seen one before coming across this. My dad remembered them and said oh yeah, they had like a cargo net.

In the mean while I came across a Samba member awhile back he had a custom cover made up.

I'll get photos of the actual OG cover here shortly.

i was not aware of a cover either. i thought the loops were for straps or rope that the owner may have already had.

yeah I was floored to find it still in its place. Study material..still holing up after 40 years. It's a rare find...like I said shocked they aren't reproduced...? Maybe they can't be? Or maybe they've been forgotten -I don't know.

Heres mine. not in position just ran out and got the picture...
Leather straps lasted about 40 years...

And here's the top on the side of my Bus.

I imagine this was fashioned up to work up top. Looks alot like the interior net.
