Hi, I have a 1600 DP that needs an align bore, probably a thrust cut, the crank needs turned, I need the rods and cam checked and a valve job on the heads. I'm in Salisbury NC, anyone close to me and know where I can get some machine work done? Any ideas as to the cost for this work in my area? Thanks! :D

Check out Brett (METALCHOMPER on the Samba). He is in Statesville and does line boring etc. He's a great guy and an engineer.

Everything is going great! That Truline beats the crap out of any hydraulic feed bar! Thanks for setting me up with it!. I'm working on a new mic to easily set the cutters for different bore sizes. I bored a case last month in which the #1 saddle was ~.020" off center. Had to take small cuts on that one to get it square. The customer thought it was previously bored with a hydraulic feed type bar.

I still haven't used that boring head I bought from you. The quill is loose on my mill and needs tightened up a bit. It'll hold ~.001" on standard milling but it needs to be better before using the boring head. You moved into your new shop yet?

I am the new owner of the place since June. I have moved several machines and on the last few trips. I have enough machines to split into two independent shops. But the Omaha one w/ the killer set up. It should be fully powered by next summer...hopefully.

But I am here in VA for awhile.

People are really confused now on who to trust to do their machining or engine builds that shops are going out-of-business left and right. Everyone is hard up these days. Being self-sufficient has a LOT of benefits, don't it?
