Not necessarily. The running board mats on the beige and Lotus White cars of the mid-60s could have come in black, as well. The only thing universal is that the fender beading would never have been black, except on a black car.
Only cars produced prior to the '62 model year would have come with black fender beading from the factory. The switch began during the latter part of the '61 model year. |

Sweeet! So my running boards could be original. I was kinda bummed a little to think someone switched them out. Everything else on the car is OG. |

| That looks great Woreign! The interior pics in your gallery...where did you get the seats and door panels? Are those colors that would have come in a pb 64? My stock seats are brown striped, but someone put black covers over them. Does anyone make the striped seat covers? |

| The brown interior would be correct for Panama Beige. The PO installed the grey interior in my car, and I must say that I like it better than the brown. From the few photos that I have seen, the brown interior looks too dark. The door panels would also have been brown with a bright white accent. Again, not the most flattering combination. With my car, the grey seats and door panels actually take on a toupe color against the beige paint. I don't know off hand where the interior was purchased, but I can find out when I get home next week. |
