Not really - the Minilites are a much straighter spoke. The Empi tapers to a point towards the centre. The Empi 8-spoke was a re-designed version of the Empi 5-spoke for 4-lug VWs. These are copies, and as said above, probably made by Eagle. Originals have a screw on centre cap and are a two piece construction. Repros are one piece. |

Yes, they're quite different when you put them side to side. I've got a set of each, and the repros have fatter spokes and a bulkier rim too. |

| surferdudedav & I are just saying that YES these all ARE "knockoffs" of Minilites! We know there are differences, but Minilite was the First 8 spoke wheel. |
