First time to post but have been a frequent viewer of a great site. Looking at buying a diesel pickup and need advice. Have read most related posts in the Forum but have a few unique questions. Any independet shops in the Atlanta Georgia area that could do a good pre purchase inspection? Have found a few caddys with low operating miles due to being towed behind motorhomes. Any detrimental effects to towing a caddy? I notice most caddys have trailer hitches....what is towing capacity of an 81 diesel caddy pickup? Any good shops in the Savannah Georgia area for maintenance? Any and all advice is appreciated.

towing them will wear out front wheel bearings, towing with them is going to require a well balanced trailer or some helper springs in the rear. I am not near savannah, but if you are near chattanooga tn we have a shop that specializes in VWs, Volvos and BMWs

Thanks for your response. I've found a few caddys in your region that I plan to check out. Would it be ok to call you to discuss future maintenance, etc? What is the name of your shop?

Check the strut towers for rust, this is a bad spot on the Rabbit trucks.

I tow w/ mine, no problem...
