I'm trying to "unslam" my '81 Caddy. I have the correct springs on the way. Will strut inserts from a Rabbit work?
Thanks. |

| Yes. The Caddy is the same as the rabbit. |

| Rear has leaf springs and regular type shocks. |

I believe the rear was lowered by "flipping the springs". Is it possible to just flip them back? I have access to a Caddy in a salvage yard. Better to just get ones from a used one that hasn't been modified? When I called about strut inserts I was asked if they were, "threaded on the inside or outside..." Any way to tell before taking it apart? I'd like to have all of the parts lined up beforehand to minimize down time.
Thanks! |

As far as the rear goes, they may have put the axle on top of the springs. Not sure without seeing it. Maybe easier to get another rear at the yard?
As far as the front look at the top of the strut housing where the insert goes. There is a cap there that holds it in. It either threads on the inside of the housing or on the outside.
If you can, post some pics and it'll be easier to tell what you are working with. |

| yes you can just "unflip" the rear axle. you will however need factory shocks. if they did it right with drop plates you simply take them off and reattach the hub to the axle |
