I have some issues with the brakes on my 66. The pedal gets higher and stiffer and my brakes lock, the problem seems to come from the rear passenger. That shoe was worn unevenly only from the bottom. I replaced all cylinders including master and rubber hoses and metal one on that rear one. Only thing I can think of is adjusting the pedal rod because I extended it quite a bit.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Strange. Can't see how that could happen. The shoe only 'moves' at the top.

Why did you do that? It's a mechanical adjustment for 'free' play of the pedal, not a way of getting more 'brakes' out of the cylinder. Adjust it back before you ruin the MC.

IMO you need a new MC anyway and adjust all the brakes. Don't know how? Get a book that shows and tells you how to do it.

Were your brakes locking up before you replaced all of these parts you mention? Or afterwards? Are you positive all the hardware was re-installed correctly? You don't want to re-adjust the brake pedal push rod. They were factory set and should be left that way. If you're having too much brake pedal travel it's more than likely a MC problem, leaky brake lines, shoes not adjusted correctly, and the rest of the usual suspects.

when I got car I bought brake kit that included everything, at first I couldn't get any pedal after bleeding and adjusting and vise versa, my friend extended pedal push rod. We kept at it and got what appeared a decent amount of pedal.
eventually my brake locked up, I adjusted all 4, it happened again. This time I checked the rear passenger side and noticed the front brake shoe worn completely out on bottom half, I noticed cylinder was leaking, I replaced both shoes and cyl and adjusted. I have done these brake jobs before without problems, I think it might have been the parking brake plate, maybe it was upside down so I switched and now parking brake solid...I'll see what happens when I adjust ped push rod...

If you lengthened the pedal rod you eliminated play necesary for the compensation port to be unblocked with the pedal at rest. This will maintain pressure and bind/heat/wear the brakes. Adjust the rod for 1mm play (10mm at the pedal tip).

The front left on my 66 would lock up. Replaced wheel cylinder etc.. Still locking up, replaced hose, problem gone.
