hello,
Is it possible to remove and replace the Fan shroud and engine tins with the engine in the car? The fan shroud is a 36hp doghouse style and I would like to replace it with a OEM style from a late model beetle.

| It is, but it's a lot easier with the engine out. |

In the time required to remove all the parts in-situ, and then wrestle with aligning the decklid it's easier to remove the engine for easy access.
I've done this both ways, and wouldn't consider doing the job again with the engine still installed. |

| i just took the tin off my 36hp the other day, it took about a half hour in all, really wasnt too bad... |

| Pull the engine it is much easier thnh scraping up your hands |
