The KDF-Beetle has some different details to post-war cars. One detail is the rear window with the curved crossbin. The best is to look into Jacek's beautyful website with a lot of detailed picture of his KDF-beetles...

| I have seen a few 46's with the same raised shape between the windows. |

...but if you have this window in your car you know that you have an old body.
Other detail to identify an Kdf are
- different heating pipes under the rear seat
- different knochs for the door in the body with a smaller groove.
- the angles for the engine lid are fixed with screws - not welded
- different systen to fix this decklid
- both hoods are numbered with the bodynbumber
- different window scrapers - instead of a rubber you have a metallstipe with carpet
- "bubbles" in the front end
- Treat to fix the round petrol tank on the chassis
Beetles up to summer 1943 have a groove in the firewall and the section under the rear loofers is made with three pieces.
