I am going to upgrade from the 14 inch wheels I currently have to 15s. My question is can I do better than the 15s that are for sale on the gowesty website. They are listed for $550. That is a lot of dough for me right now and am wondering if someone knows of an available set of 15s that will fit on a 88 westy for less than the ones at gowesty.com, regardless of style.
Thanks |

Check Craigslist for Mercedes wheels. They're the same thing. Here are some 16's but you may find 15's somewhere too.

I remember someone had a link to them from an online vendor for around $120 per wheel for generics. |

There are lots of Mercedes 15" wheels that don't fit properly. Ones that do are quite rare, at least for 2wd Vanagons. The most common ones WON'T fit.

| Look at the Sticky's (what wheel fits) above. It'll tell you what you need to do to get those to fit, which is, most likely, drilling out the center, spacers, new lug bolts and nuts. That's the usual routine. |

Same as GoWesty, but no hubcaps and they don't list them as being compatable with the Vanagon. 15s run $99, 16s $119 each. |

| On my van I have some old Passat wheels, got all four for $40. A hole saw, front studs & spacers, and they work great. Look on Craigslist, that's where I got mine. |

Thanks
Check CraigList. I got a set of 4 Mercedes wheels (15") chromed with the tyres AND the longer bolts and the nuts for $150 and ... no shipping the bloke was local.
No drilling, no boring, NO spacers, no BS or whatever some guys have to do, just straight on.
Good hunting |
