I'm thinking differential, but what do I know...

Turning left, under load (acceleration), rumble, rumble....grumble. Let off the gas, everything turns quiet, sweet.

Turning right, under load, quiet, sweet.

I thought new CVs would help. Nope. Don't know how long the bearings have been on the rig, brake cylinders/pads 10K ago.

Transmission has 210K miles that I can surmise.

Lets say it is the differential in the tranny....same old question as any other armchair newb....how long can she go?......what damage will be done when she goes to tranny and/or motor?......

I want a new tranny, hope to have one within the next year....just got through the last year w/ $10K into the rig.....would like to wait and save up for a good quality rebuilt....would like 5,000 or so miles on it over the next year if I can.

Thanks in advance!

I would guess wheel bearings before diff. Time to inspect.

Rear wheel bearings. BTDT. Jack it up and give them a shake.
