yeah i actually just traded it for the baja
couldn't afford to do any more work on the baja, he was lookin for one
and i was looking for another (running) vw and turns out this thing is f**ing awesome!
it's got the 1.8l 16v in it, it's almost stock original, i think the only major things i'm gunna do is stiffen up the suspension a bit more then put a body kit on it from these guys http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/scirocco.html |

Like what G stated or every year or two.
I just also bought a red (I hate red but I couldn't pass up this deal) 16V Scirocco to go with my black 8v Scirocco and before the 16V goes to get smogged and legal for the street, it will have a new one (plus fixing a cold start problem too).

| I have one sitting at my shop that was owned by a GI from the local airbase..shipped it here from Europe, buried alot of money in the engine. Hardly any miles on it when a lady ran a stop sign and bashed the rt. front. Car was built to race. Full cage(not home built) custom exhaust, racing seats with 4 point belts...handling package...all the braces. Clutch and trans all new. He was on the way to my shop with a new set of wheels and tires for me to mount when he was hit. He let for Korea..I stored the car. The car is now mine. If someone is close enough...they can come, strip what they want(except the wheels and tires) and I'll scrap the rest...or take the whole thing..use my shop..tools..rack..overhead electric hoist etc. Engine is perfect and fast.PM me and let me know. Its way to good of a vehicle to recycle but am cleaning and wanting to retire fairly soon. |

Showcars Bodyparts had a horrible reputation last I checked, but the last I checked was 5 years ago. But then; it really was horrible!
The kit in the 2nd picture of your above post is called the "Kamei" kit, and the kit in the first pic looks like it uses Kamei sideskirts with a different airdam; possibly a Zender.
I've owned 4 Mk2 Scirocco's and would've been sure of my knowledge a few years ago, but I'm getting rusty now:)
But I do remember the first thing to do when you but a 16V is to replace the timing belt! It isn't too hard and if it breaks you'll have 8 bent valves.
