| i have a 74 std bug. long story short is i need a hood. the one that came with the car is dented and has a big gap. i bought another one and it had a gap too. today i was going to buy a brand new hood from a guy that was for a 69 and the gap was huge. the body is straight and everything lines up except the hood. my question is. for a 74, should i be looking for 74 and up hoods? i mean i thought that from 68 to 74 everything would fit but thats not the case. any advise? |

| yes i'm sure i have a std beetle. the gap is along the fenders. i figured it was just bc both hoods had been hit. but after that guy brought the new 69 hood i'm not sure anymore |

| Those hoods should fit, it sounds like your front nose clip has been bumped enough times to push it back/down and thus leave a gap at the bottom of your hood. If that is the case, it can be straightened back into position. |
