Anyone out there know of a inexpensive shipping company to ship single cab gates? They seem to be to big for Greyhound. :(

I tried shipping gates through GreyHound and they are too long. Try Fed Ex Freight. I used them before and they did a great job. If I remeber correctly it was $111 to ship from lower Alabama to Arkansas and it took 3 days for my buyer to recieve them. But that was 2 years ago or so. Oh, and you have to pick them up at the teminal or it's another $70 or $80 for them to deliver to your door.

simpsoncan2 Thu Nov 20, 2008 9:36 am

And that was for all three gates.

ghostwagens Thu Nov 20, 2008 9:42 am

Did you have to pick them up at a main warehouse or did it come straight to your door at that price? Seems like a decent deal.

Just went thru this trying to ship a nose ..... from the Greyhound website ....
Quote: What are your package weight and size restrictions?
The maximum weight per package is 100 pounds. The extreme measurements of length, width, and height shall not exceed 30" x 47" x 82".

d-rick Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:49 am

I used Greyhound awhile back to ship a split nose from MO-So Cal and it was in the $75 range

there is a student advantage card that can be purchased for $25 a year and you get 50% off all greyhound freight shipping.unfortunately sc gates are far to big for greyhound to ship.I cant find anyway cheap to send sc gates either.

grim reaper Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:04 pm

Today i mailed some gates out all 3 for a single and i used a company called http://www.fastwayfreight.com/ and it cost $325.I card-boarded each gate and taped them all together as one package.

I use Greyhound a lot for big items such as ice boxes, bumpers, etc.

Have you tried Amtrak? I sent a middle seat cross country with them once, it worked out great. The recipient needs to pick it up at his/her closest train station, of course.
