In the KTK '08 photo album, 3rd to the very last photo is a picture of a red Thing with a short hardtop and a vinyl cover that goes over the rest of the rear of the vehicle creating a pickup truck-look.
That is so cool! The top looks factory! Was there such a thing available, even in Europe of Mexico? I'd love to buy that! |

| That was a top that The Thing Shop sold a few years back. That car lives in Frankfort KY. |

I wasn't sure if he meant just the top or if a Thing was ever sold in a pick-up configuration. I assumed the latter. I didn't know that you could get a shortened soft top. Interesting. |

The factory in Puebla produced about 600 cars like that, mainly in 1976.
Most of them have been used by the mexican "Comisión Federal de Electricidad".

I saw a guy install a Model A or T top on his 74 THING, only had to do minor trim to fit inside the door posts behind the front seats here in Anchorage, AK
