| Ok so I searched and didn't come up with much about the new made in usa bugpack magnum t-handle shifter. I was just wondering how good they are and if anyone has had experience using one? And how much better would it be over a stock shifter? I can't decide between either the bugpack or get a old hurst and have it rebuilt. |

| It is the 2nd best shifter available next to the famous Gene Berg shifter. It is a lot beter then a stock shifter. |

so Im taking it the magnum is better the an orginal hurst? if so then in what ways?
I have always heard the old hursts were the best you could get. But I have never used anything other than old hursts and stock so I was just wondering. |

I had an original Hurst in my old '68 daily driver... it was perfect. I'm taller, at 6'3", so the extra height was a welcome feature. My biggest bitch now is the Hursts attact the accessory/period-correct Cal-Look crowd as much as the Berg shifters and they're commanding a stupid amount of money.
It's true that its' only worth it if someone pays it, I guess.
I got lucky and found mine for $25 right here on the Samba, but I've never seen one that cheap since that time, which was about five years ago or so. |
