My weber 40 IDF has what looks like a vaccum tube, it has a small screw on the end of it. Is this a vaccum port? Could I run a vac. advance dist off it? I will be running dual 40 idf"s, and would like to move away from my 009 if possible.

You are fortunate. Not all IDFs have vacuum ports in them.

After driving around with vacuum and never having it before that, I can say that my IDF's will be given a dizzy with the vac advance treatment. Huge difference in street driveability. Any daily driver with a carb that has a vacuum port should USE IT.
