i had sectioned in a rag top in my oval window...but haven't a clue as to what year vw i had cut the roof of off. the only difference i see so far physically, even though i am unable to show pics at this time, is that the side aluminum side rails are one piece units, instead of the two piece ones consisting of the small one on the end. i have not seen any gallery pics on here, showing side rails resembling mine. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

| VW went to 1-piece runners at chassis number 5488894, that was in April 1963, for the last few months of production of the Deluxe ragtop. |

| the scissors that raise the front piece have a date code stamped on them-month and year-example 4/62 or some other date code. remove the horizontal screws(2 of them-flat screw driver slot about 1 1/4" long real long shoulder screws) read date stamp on the 2 jacking scissors. |
