i have a somewhat clean 71 squareback that has a driveability issue. it starts right up and runs but the idle jumps. its for sale
guy contacted me locally that has a 1970 vw bus, 56000 miles on rebuilt motor "VA car body is solid"
he wants 3500
what kind of condition should this be in for the price? he said battery area is rusted thru... etc.
let me know. i previously had a vanagon and loved it...
thanks,

this thread is utterly useless without pics.
if you want to know about gas mileage, please consult the long thread that already exists. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=223429 |

Agreed.
Yeah until you get pics of the other bus and maybe post your own (some people here are too lazy to look in galleries) all you will get is a bunch of jokes and useless info.
Gas mileage can run from anywhere between 8 and 20+, depending on the condition of the motor. As for smog, i know that Idaho requires it if the car is driven more then a certain amount a year. Well, i lied. Ada county (Boise City) is the only place that does that, everywhere else has no emission laws.
Point is to check your own local emission laws in Ohio. None of us will just know different state laws off the top of our heads. |

Pics needed for sure, 56K is alot of miles for a type 1 in a bus, the rest of it better be pretty amazing.
No significant smog stuff on a 70, nothing that would effect a test anyways. |

| A bus is more versatile, what do you really want? |
