Hello,
I was thinking to install a replica of the Les Leston steering wheel for Porsche 904, identical to the Gran Tourismo Wheel Sold by Empi
But you can see on the picture that there is an adapter to install it.
I buy on thesamba an Les Leston Adapter
The replica is looking like that:
I ask the seller if I can install it on my beetle and he answer me:
"Our Les Lestons are riveted together exactly as the originals. They are made to fit only 1960 thru 1965 356 Porsches. They do not have a separate “adapter” to fit different cars.
You would have to remove the rivets to remove the 356 hub and horn button receiver, then fit the bare wheel to your adapter."
I'm a bit afraid that the modification are difficult to do, and because the price of the steering wheel is quit expensive, I don't want to make a mistake
What do you think? Maybe I should buy a used/bad condition 356 steering wheel (60-65) and see if I can install it?
Tx for your Help
William

How about fitting a genuine Les leston wheel-
It may not be as cool as an original Porsche 904 wheel but you can pick up a real les leston for quite good money and as you can see I fitted mine using a Flat 4 adapter!
Easy as pie and far cheaper than an EMPI GTV wheel! |

I like your Leston, but the 904 model fits my EMPI instrument panel (the one in aluminum before the "wood" one"
