Can anyone explain the Audi rear calipers off of a 91 V8?

I popped the piston out, and I have never seen a big screw before.

I don't care about the parking brake working since it's never worked since I had the van.

Thanks Jeff

and Fourtitude *VWVortex for Audis

though the 1st 2 are more responsive.

I have never opened up an Audi caliper, but they are same as VW. The screw thing is the adjustment for pad wear. They turn out and protrude more as the pad wears. You must turn the screw back in fully when you replace pads. I use a large Channelock pliers. Some 'Merican cars need a special tool, but I never needed one for my Jetta.
Can you get rebuild parts for these calipers once you disassemble them?

You can get most of the parts to rebuild them. I'm just cleaning them up and reassembling them.

Hey Guys:
Long time lurking, but finally, my Audi past is useful to members. You need Lucas publication XZB137 which shows an exploded view of that caliper and the instructions for rebuilding it. These calipers were featured on the 1992-1997 Audi URS4 and URS6. I have this doc on PDF but I don't know how to post it. I can e-mail you if you can't get it from the Lucas website.

Good luck!
