Until recently, I never entertained the thought of building an 1835 because of the "thin jugs" syndrome. However, in the last couple of years, we now have "think walled" jugs.
Good? Bad? Still too thin? Any real numbers on heat, etc..?
What brand names sell the new improved 92s? Are they the same price as 90.5/94s?
Thanks - |

There thicker than a 90.5. Fit in a 94 hole
Basically the old ones were over bored 90.5's , the new ones are under bored 94's

Thanks - that answers my question. I got a case that was bored for "90.5/92", so those P&Cs won't work on this case as is.
Aren't we going to need to change what way we name our case/head boring from:
"90.5/92" or "94" to:
"90.5" or "92/94"? |

I meant that in a GOOD way. Look at his 2180 motor on his website. An excellent blueprint for anyone to follow. |

So far so good, but I only have about 5000 miles.
Thick enough?

x2
Several 1835ccs, racers & daily drivers, High and low compression, no issues. I don't expect 80,000-100,00 miles out of them though... |

I ran an 1835 HARD and in a bad way for a long time. It was the case that gave out by cracking behind #3. Still have the p/c's that I will use again....some day.
Those thick walls are pretty b.a. though. |

You can have the bottom od the thick wall 92 turned down to fit the 90.5 hole, or have the case re-bored to the 94 fit (thick 92) |
