Anyone have access to a part number book for 74 Supers? I need front strut inserts
I notice some places show the same part number for 5/73 and later. The parts book I have shows 2 different part numbers.
PN 133 412 031B listed for 73-2/75.
PN 133 412 031D listed as 75-79
Any idea if 133 412 031D will fit a 74? I have a line on a good deal on them but according to my book they are 75 and later. They seem the same as the 73-75 one

| This is a great example of where quoting your VIN# to the parts place will help. I had to do this when ordering the correct strut inserts for my '73 super. |

I happened to check with a parts supplier about the same issue a while back. I never did get around to buying the inserts but I was sent the info below. I haven't verified it but he knows his VW's.
"Originally Volkswagen did use two different part numbers for the front
strut inserts on the 1973 through 1979 Super Beetles. The physical
dimensions were the same, but the internal valving for the inserts were
different.
About seven years ago, the major manufacturers for the two original part
numbers, superseded the two different parts in to one. Boge is now
supplying their part number 100632 as both part numbers 133 412 031D and 133 412 031B, which is what we carry
Their are some suppliers and even some importers that still list the two
separate part numbers. But unless their stock is over seven years old,
the parts in the the boxes are going to be the same"
