I believe that is a dealer option tent. you may want to hit up hazetguy on here. He is a wealth of info.

Looks like a VW tent, not a Westy tent. A Westy tent is mutli colored...this is a Westy tent:

Yeah, I have one of these also. So when you say VW tent, does that mean it is just a free standing VW tent?

VW of america accessories brand, not manufactured by Westfalia but a stateside supplier. May have been sold with a Westfalia but didn't come over on the boat with it.

A perfect Westy tent goes between 3 and 5 hundred, depending on use, timing, whatever. If this one is flawless, rarely used, expect to pay a hefty chunk.

If your neighbor used to have a VW bus in the 70's and bought one of those tents new with the van, it is possible that they still have it in the basement and would be willing to sell that old bulky canvas tent for just $60

$350 seems kind steep for the condition it's in. It is more rare than the Westy tent?

... many less for sale than the striped splitty tents. The tent pictured at the beginning of this thread is a 68 up Westy tent with a VW part number.

Larger than a splitty tent and does not have the Gypsy/made out of scraps look.

I have this same tent and I love it it has really thick canvas the only bad thing I can say about it is it takes up a lot of space when it is packed up and it is really heavy

Actually it was my sons friends dad that asked me if I was interested in a tent just like what you are asking about. His dad still had their tent from the 70's. I said I'd like to see it. Haven't set it up yet but looked over the canvas and poles, everything all looked. Got it for $50. Anyone have directions for this tent. :D

PF Warrior , Hi , I have the same type tent as what your pitchures show . I myself like this type better due to the larger door and windows . the windows are also lower and this allows more air flow . Now to one and all . I'm the 2nd owner of this tent the PO got it over seas when they got the bus in 1971 and I have looked all over the tent to try to find some type of lable like the VWOA . Now what came first 1971 or VWOA ???

I thought about buying that tent. I saw it advertised but when I saw the pic, it didn't look like your standard westy tent. I think the guy drives his bus to NAU everyday. 350 seems a little high though.
