| Why did you replace your vacuum one with an 009? Was it broken? Timing is between 28-30 degrees BTDC @3500 rpm. |

Well, I think you might be hurting your performance a little switching to a 009, so you may be in for a treat.
Use a timing light, you want to be at the right of tdc.

I've used several 009s and always set them to 7.5 BTDC with a static timing light. That usually gets them in the ballpark...then double-check with a timing gun at 3,000-3,500 rpm to verify max. I've always liked 32 degrees total.
009s have always given me better fuel economy :) |

I've only static-timed both my 009s, and have been happy with them, on both 1600 and 1835. I use stock points, not special 009 points. Maybe my 009s are different because they were made in the 1970s??? |

Timing will depend on compression ratio and how good your gas is.
