I have recently noticed that every time I brake after travelling 35+ mph my 65 bug pulls to the right. I have done a lot of repairs on my bug but have never worked on brakes on a bug. Is it a hard job? Should I let an experienced mechanic do the job? If I do the job I would be learning as I go but its a project I cant afford to get wrong. I dont want to put my life or someone else's in jeopardy. Thanks.

| You can do it and do a very good job. The adjustment of drum brakes is very simple as well as bleeding them. The adjustment is as simple as sticking a screw driver in the holes on the drums and turning a small wheel lever that clicks into adjustment. You want to adjust the wheels so that when you spin them (when its jacked up) they have a slight drag on them. To understand the entire procedure do a search on brake adjusting as theres more info and more comprehensive instructions than I can give you. |

I have a friend that has been having a similar problem with a notch. We both have worked on it together, the cylindars seem to be fine, adjustment is fine and they are bled correctly. The only thing we havent looked at is the brake lines. |
