Hello everybody,
i´m looking for grey vinyl with the correct pattern for the door panels of my 1950 bus.
Who knows a dealer who sell this kind of vinyl?
On the photo it looks
a little bit darker. On the other photos you can see examples of the vinyl
at the 50´bus of my friend tonny larson. I think he have the original vinyl on his bus.
Thank you Axel Struwe from germany

This is (was) the stuff on my early 51. You can see it best where it has shrunk and not been overpainted. I have some left for samples.
Im looking too , if i find some i will post it up.

| I assume all early buses had vinyl covered panels then? When did this stop? My 52 kombi doesn't have any vinyl on the panels |

Thanks -Thats not a bad match actually. Like you say hard to tell from monitors. Im going to traul the suppliers around my way with my sample and see if i can find a good match.
Scotty - no idea. I think it was 51 sometime it stopped and went to the later card type.A Vw cost saving thing i guess.

Change was at 20-015780 for type 21 panel and at 20-015629 for type 23 kombi.

Just for reference - Here are some better pictures, its very fine grain stuff and very thin with a sort of woven back. couple of pictures of how it was cut to the edges and the glue lines they used if you want it exact...
Its not V cut was straight cut but it has shrunk
If anyone has any info or a reasonable match please post the link.
Cheers
