| will a set of porsche 911 fuchs(16"x7" front and 16"x8" rear) fit on my '76 baywindow just with adapters for the bolt pattern(5x130mm to 5x112mm) or will i need to arrange anything else?could i put the four 911's brakes in order to avoid the adapters and increase braking performances?would they fit easyly? |

i think for most applications the 16x6 and 16x7 are a better choice. i think the 8s are to wide unless you do some torsion narrowing unless you aren't lowering any at all.
i don't know much about bays but i'm sure there is a brake swap like there is for early buses....ken.... |

| i'm not lowering at all my bus.anyone knows if it would be easy or not not put the 4 911's disk brakes as well?i have a late 70s 911 donor and i could get all the pieces if i'd need. |

16X7's and 16x8's will amost surely rub on the rear wheel arch if you redrill the drums- and 100% guaranteed they will rub with adapters..though the adapters I used were the 'thicker' ones for 5x205 to 5x130- the later ones that you;d need ~ 5x112 to 5x130 are just slightly not as thick so you might squeek by. The 16x6's will just barely fit most busses with adapters.
And you'll find that without lowering the bus the center of gravity gets pretty high even with a super short sidewall.
I ran 16x6's on my 70 single cab lowered 4" and it was decent, BUT I eventually switched to 14" Fuchs as it was a much better fit and I could run a taller tire for a better ride. |
