I was born August 12, 1979.

Anyway, I have respect for you Israelis because of everything you guys have to put up with over there.

I hope your bug brings back the good memories of your friend.

Also, on a side note, on another off road motorcycle forum I frequent, there are some Israelis who LOVE to post pics. Do all of you like your cameras? I'm just kidding.

Good luck and be safe.

Thank you tundrawolf, it is give us back the good memories.

About the camera, I don't know about the others but I have 8.1MP in my mobile phone so it's impossible to save up the work pics.

And also thank you about the respect, it's good to know about that.

Updates:

Today and yesterday i've worked hard on the new cage.

the cage will be in the regulations of the FIA, and the pipes\bars are "clubman 500", made in England produced for the FIA regulations.

these pictures are after a lote of adjustments to make perfect "fish mouth". and it's handmade with grinder, it's hard to fing notcher in Israel.

some pictures from the hard work,
Ido.

perfect adjustment

And without the bolts, in this moment, the cage can move 10 inches backword for a better access to weld (but we'll wait with the welding).

And back to the front

That is some FINE fit work you have done there. Good job!

looking really good, i like the way you are going to move the cage back to weld and then move it back forward when you are done. make sure you weld all the way around the top of the tubes.

Thank you guys for the good compliments. it's good to hear that.

Today, the 12th August, this is the anniversary for sasha fall. Three years have passed since that awful day.

Yesterday i decided to take a littel break from studies and work on the baja.
I made two lower shock mounts from 6mm metal, for one shock each corner and one strap limit.
also i started to doing body work, on the dashbord and on the original holes on the body.

looking good Ido, i like how you are fitting the dash back in around the safety bar,
also your shock mounts look like they will be bullet proof  , that is very thick stock you are using, 4mm would have been fine and not be so heavy, the more weight you put out on that arm the more you shocks will have to work, I like the design though, may copy that on my build.

The work on the cage continues, and also got some parts..
quick release, steering shaft, steering box, u joints, the 6 puck clutch and more..

I made the rear cage mounts from 3 plates.
The first one welded to the body, the second is above the base and the bar welded to it, and the third is under the body the make it stronger.

The bolts will overturned to ensure the tire will not hurt.

Your friend would be proud.

hey guys!

It's been long time since the last update, in the last weeks I was to busy, so I couldn't visit here to much and also couldn't work on the Baja.
But after all, I back to work on the project on monday, and here some updates.

At first the steering shaft:
It should be connected by two shafts (short one and longer) and two U-joints.
But on my baja there is a problem. the pedals comes from the top and it's blocks the steering shaft.

To fix it, I add a heim bearing (3/4") to support the short shaft and it's feet and works perfect!

also I built the seats mounts, it wasn't easy (FIA.. remember? :| ). after all for the first time I sat on the baja seat and it's feel great

it's good to back here,
Ido.
