| I voted as a 74 for my fathers 74 sun bug because its running and in January going back on the road for a spare car but we also have a 72 auto stick we need to get going for my younger brother and a 75 convertible that needs rebuilding after a bad engine fire. |

Here is me in my '76. Bought it from a friend who inherited it from his dad, the original owner. The friend isn't a "VW person" so when it stopped running, his wife told him to get rid of it - NOW. A couple hundred later and I took it. Nothing much was wrong with it. I have had many sedans (and a few buses) but this is my first convertible.
Love my convertible!

| Just curious, how many of y'all have got or have had a Super in Kansan Red? My '72 was originally that color, and when I restore it I plan to repaint it that color. I haven't seen any other Supers that are still that color, was it not a popular color choice? |

This is my 1971 Kansas Beige SB that I want to restore to it's original glory!!! I bought it in Fall 2008 in the Montreal region (QC, Canada) and I think the car originaly came from Vermont. Tha car is in good shape and run OK, rust hole in one floor pan and also inner front wheelhouse. I know it's not the most popular of the Beetle but since it's the first year of the SB I think it's kind of special.

If it's a curved windshield built in 72 you actually have a 73.
i can live with that. door plate reads Nov.72
Production for the 1973 model year would have started (typically) around August/September '72 timeframe...

I bought mine 5 years ago for $500.
It had been sitting in the back of a business for about 6 years.
It was a total dump so I did a full restore on it myself. Took about 9 months to complete but what a blast doing it.
This bug had every nook and cranny filled with walnuts. Damn squirrels!!!
Building a new engine as mine bit the dust due to a flat cam.
I don't know why the call it a flat cam cuz this one was just rounded.

 were did this thread come from? you forgot 1970! I don't think any one on here has one but that was the first year super (not sold in the U.S) and maybe 1980 cents that was really the last year for the super..
I have A 1972 LHD 1302s daily driver :D |

| My super is a November 1970 super thats why originally i thought it was a regular before i knew how to classify my beetle. it has more of the features of a 1970 beetle than the 1971 super that it is when i look at beetles from the same year as it. I didnt know that they didnt have the 1970 Supers in the US maybe mine was more foreign than i thought  |
