Nice work, One question:how does that rear torsion adjuster work?

It works using the same idea as the adjustable spring plates, really. It has two center carriers one for each torsion. They sit in the housing and the torsions slide into them. Then there are two adjustment screws with lock nuts. When you adjust the screws they push the carriers up or down depending on the adjustment. That in turn changes the angle and the preload of the torsions. The adjustment is really just a lever system. I may have some more detailed pics of the innards I can look if you are interested.

Thanks. I don't have any updates at the moment though. I got tied up with a friend's wedding for the past few weeks. What with the bachelor party and all. Then my BMW killed itself so I've been hunting for another car on the weekends. I'm gonna start working on it again today though. I should have some updates for it soon. The pan is basically built. The motor has been fullly mocked up (carbs, fueling, etc) and now torn back down. I left off with the doors and the dash. Once those are done I can bolt the two pieces together and drag it down to get the headliner done. I'll have something done on it soon.

I got it from wiring works. I physically picked it up in the swap meet section of classic 08. But someone sells them. Just search for wiring works. It's a really nice kit I highly recommend it.

Tony, They look like that because I paid someone to polish the texture off them and he gave me that crap back. It screwed the wheels up. The faces are warped now and all wavy. :x So he's buying me another set or giving me money towards a set. We haven't figured that out yet. He said he'll do whatever though to make it right. We're trying to save those ones at the moment but I don't think its going to work. Those gouges that form the pentagon around the rim are deep and so far we've been unable to get the waves out.

The rear torsion adjuster isn't my design. It's a section you can get from sway-a-way. And thanks T-bone.

Me thinks those wheels might be perfect candidates for some lead filler and a new spray job.

And the work you are doing is absolutely gorgeous! That silver has to be one of my favorite OG colors.

Btw, what is it that you used for the sound dampening?

Shit I would have a machinist lathe off the thick spoke line ribs completely, chrome them and bust out a one off wheel that nobody has.

The sound deadener (sp?) is called Hushmat and its mostly used by competition sound off cars. Most places I talked with said it didn't fail after a few years like the dynamat does. I guess the Dynamat dries out, gets crusty and stops working. This stuff has like a foil over the top of it, you can get it with silver foil or black and I opted for the black. You can get it off Amazon, which is where I got it from. I bought a box and I'm gonna have a bit left over when I'm done. I like the silver too its gonna look good all together.
