View original topic: Contemporary (late 70's early 80's?) Nativity story?

Growing up my father would occasionally read to my siblings and I a "contemporary" nativity story instead of the biblical one. I do not remember much, but I DO know that Joseph and Mary drove a VW. I was maybe 5-7 years old when he read it to us, so that would date it to around 1979-1982.

Has anyone here have any idea about this story, or even better a copy or link to it?

My father is deceased now 11 years and my internet search skills are lacking.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could it be that your father made it up just for you? Good luck in your search!

I do not think he made it up, but maybe he did. I have a vague impression that it may have come from a Reader's Digest actually, but do not have any information to back that up...

Thanks.
