one of our locals said if in 20 years the car has rust, he'll get the tattoo touched up and add the rust.

Now that's Hard Core. ;)

You sound like my Mother in Law

well, fair enough - however...............

we Gen X-ers were present at the tatt rennaissance, when they went mainstream and nearly everyone was showing how different they were from everyone else by getting the same body art.

and having now been to my 20th high school reunion, and seeing the once firm and svelte now plump and pudged, there's a whole lot of tatts that just don't handle the changes in the canvas very well. there's just nothing like seeing the hot goth chick in a tanktop after she's birthed three and breastfed 'em all.

but hey - it's your bod, your choice, your bag. but we reserve the right to laugh at your saggy, stretched out tatts in 10 years.

So far all of my tattoos are only seen when I want them to be seen. I have been tempted to get my son's name on my right forearm but it's much more out in the open so I am not sure.

When I was a young impressionable boy (1970s) a WW1 Navy vet showed me his tattoos. I could make out the anchor on his right bicep. The rest were all bluish squiggles that were just mnenomics for his wildcatting stories, as in "I got that one after banging this girl the day after the Armistice was signed." What's smooth and fine now will someday sag and wrinkle, folks.

That's the point- it's for the owner to enjoy NOT everyone who see's it. I could give a rats ass what anyone thinks of my tattoo, my hair, what clothes I'm wearing and that attitudes only gonna get worse in 30 years.

All the folks out there who are quick to criticise better hope they have genes like Dick Clark becasue a LOT of you weren't good looking to begin with tattoos or not!
