Yes, I am planning for using the original heat exchangers, but at this point, I have added j-tubes in order to get the thing started.
I am planning on using a T2 fan, placed inside the cabin and hidden hoses going into the engine compartment, through the heat exchangers and back into the cabin through the heating channels. |

I spent a couple of nighs on polishing, cleaning and painting the wheels, and although not perfect, I think I will leave them for now:
Here's a close-up of one of them:
And I also took a picture of the dash:
Sorry for being out of focus... but as you can see, I need to mount the tacho and one more gauge in the pod under the dash. It will be either a AFR meter or cylinder head temp. |

Any pics of that area on an original car. I am in the process to put new gasket in the front and will need to V notch...

Then the color-consultant (my wife) has made her choice, and heres a sample palette:
The shiny part in the middle is the radio block-off plate for a referece to the paint color.
The two lower corners are vinyls that will be used on the door panels, dark top and bottom, and light in the middle.
The upper two corners are the same patch and show an alcantara-like fabric that will be used in the seat cushions. The dark vinyl will be used on the sides and backside of the seats with the light vinyl being used for piping.
Next thing now is for my wife to fire up her sewing machine :) |

not much going on at the moment, but I need to change a brake hose on my daily commuter (a '98 Golf), so I needed to take the Ghia out of the garage, and this is the sight from my front door:
And here's a shot showing just how much snow we still have here:
Global Warming, my a.. ;)
And last for this time a rear-end shot, I think the engine bay look too busy at the moment, but at soon as I have the ECU up and running, the coil and distributor will be history, and I will add a liner on the firewall, so it will clean up alittle better:
Easter vacation is approaching, and I am taking my three sons alone up to our cabin in the mountains for three days (no power, no water...) That should qualify to some quality time in the garage when I am back, I guess :) |

here's a couple of shots of the dorr panels I cut from a water resistant 4mm carboard-like material:
I will order some vinyl tomorrow, so that my wife can start getting busy :) |

in order to figure out how much vinyl I need, I made som simple models of the parts of the interior in scale, and laid i out on a 140x400 cm area, and it seems that will be enough:
I just hope I have not forgot any large pieces... :) |

So to my sursprise the local auto uholstory store had most of the vinyl I ended up with in stock, so this is how my family is spending Saturday night, after 4 kids are in bed:
This is an example of the seams:
And here is one of the door panels before final mountimg:
And the finished door panel:
Now, my wife is working on the armrests, and its getting close to midningh, and all the contact glue is making us light-headed, so it's about time we call it a day ;) |

Grelland:
You are very talented. I am amazed that you have the skills to do such a wide variety of tasks - and do them well! Also, to find the time to do this with 4 kids.
I don't know about anyone else here but I am in awe! |

You see, there is a reason this has taken 9 years :)

Mine is closing in on 4 now. My kit car has been sitting since a tad before she was born. Continuing going to school doesn't help things either. One day I may decide to quit...
9 years is starting to sound reasonable - especially for having 7 :D kids... |
