Heres a little piece of motivation my brother did for me for my birthday last year. He painted it the same color that my Fasty will be. Its Chrysler "steel blue" (T19). It gives a good indication of what the car will look like finished!

This seems very anal to me, but it was just one of those things that really annoyed me. Hey, if its rusted, replace it right? The factory must have press fit this reflector plate onto the pot metal. I had to grind down the pot metal nubs to be able to remove the rusted reflector piece. I used pop rivets to reattach the donor reflector to the signal housing.

I agree. If you're gonna do it...do it right and all the way. I luckily had one NOS one and one that was in really nice shape. The rears I had to piece together from about 6 tailights that I had. They're OK, but not brand new looking. I've still got two NOS rear long reflector housings with OK reflectors that I didn't use. I'm holding onto them for I don't know what/why. |

The tach conversion may not be as cool as an original Type 3 tach, but it works good and all three gauges match.
damn, i am always a day late and a hundred dollars short!
did he just do the tach conversion or did he do the metal flake paint also? that metal flake is sic!! |

| Why not do them yourself! Jimmynotch said the red bezel gauges in my 66 square from Oroville, CA looked like the gauges HE restored and were stolen from him in Sacramento years ago? |

Pedal assembly is finished as well. You like that roller pedal (skateboard wheel) don't you? :P A little touch of old school Cal-Look. I actually like it better than the stock pedal. You can also see the steering column tube and Berg shifter in this picture. All painted with a special mix to match that factory black/grey color topped with satin clear. I like it.
Ignition housing with NOS ignition from Gabriel. Its a good shot of the black/grey color.
Headlight assemblies are done too. Silver with satin clear.

Just ordered a 1-5/8" raw merged header from Kymco. If anyone is looking at getting one, you should do it soon. They said the manufacturer of the headers is raising their price.

You see the inner rings of the gauges: Steel blue. The factory Chrysler color had a heavy metalic. When I had my brother mix the paint, he reduced the metalic to a finer grain. Much nicer. I'll post some better pics of the paint color soon.
Actually the color is a Mitsubishi color, we found it on a Chysler Sebring (which are built by Mitsubishi) a couple years ago. The metallic in the original formula looked to vibrant/sparkley. When I mixed the formula it called for the BC171 metallic I just stepped down to the BC170 finer metallic. The Basecoat is R-M. |

I would lose that butt splice in the starter wire in the column.
Should be soldered to the terminal like the original.
