My mind... it has been racing. I have been contemplating buying a bus and selling my mk2 GTI for about a week now. I drove a vanagon as my first car and this GTI is my second I'm wanting a bus for the fact that I like sitting up high and being able to pull up behind something real nice and close. I wish I could trade my car for a bus :( I've been looking. This is more of thinking out loud then anything. But what other place to do it then in a VW bus forum :D

You are doing exactly what I'm in process of doing. Once the bus is on the road(soon), the GTI will go up for sale.

Was it worth it? how much did you get for the bus? The GTI was a blast at first but... man they aren't as unique or have a diverse fan base. And my dad has had a few buses. I want to be cold during the winter darnit! :P

I don't know if it's worth it as I still have both and the Bus is not on the road yet.
And I'm planning on getting a 914 or some other "fun" car down the road to have with the bus. Might even be another mk2, a late 16V. Apples and oranges, and I'm ready for some oranges...

I'd rather be driving a machine not a computer the only good thing about newer cars is the safety :lol:

LOL, you count a mk2 GTI as a computerized car? Man, it's not more computerized then a late bus..

Oh yeah I know that. I'm wanting an earlier bay window before they put they pancake engines in them. Don't question my reasoning because I don't know why either. :lol:

There is a white one at a mechanics near me... I know something is wrong it it but it has a really straight body

To get into my 77 bus, I sold my 97 Anniversary edition 5.7 liter Camaro... That was in 06. 315 horses to 67 and I've never been happier! Not only that, but I'll never drive/own another 4 wheeled vehicle (2 wheeled, that's another story!).

The bus and I go together until we down together! :twisted:

Now I just need to contact this gentleman about this bus from looking inside of the window one time I noticed there was an extra door in there. SWEET... :lol: and then popped the rear hatch and noticed it had a pretty clean looking engine.. and I did this while pretty much trespassing to look at a bus. From what I remember it looked alright! I'd like to maybe trade him. My dad sold his old 77 orange/white bus in the mid 80's to him maybe that will get me some sort of deal. :roll:
