The transmission is almost done.

The original RGB's threads for the spring plate were toast

All four threads on the left RGB where helicoiled and all of the bolts were sloppy

On the Right RGB, two of the threads where helicoiled and sloppy, one was broken off and the last one was drilled crooked

So I removed both RGB from my parts bus and installed them on my good transmission.
And only had to sleeve one of the threads

both transmissions came from 67 bussed but both are a little different

Any Ideas??? My guess is that the black one is a 67 and the parts one is a 66. What do you think??

I think you want the curved clutch lever. The straight one is for much later transmissions (I think)

I have had a couple people send me PM's asking for a update. So here it is..

The bus came back home for a couple months. It has been a my buddies shop where there is much more room. While at home I worked on some of the smaller stuff like welding some holes that should not be there, also installing the safari windows and a few other things. Hopping on getting it back and painted in a couple months.

I have a badly rusted Double Cab. Been working on restoring the gates for 3 weeks now and only half done.

I was getting discouraged looking at how much work I have to do to my floors. But seeing what you did makes it seem more doable.

I have a donor skin that is in really good shape, except for the bottom. I have the gerson lower 8 inch section though. Is yours almost done?

so I have been doing some more of the detail work like safari's Uh, since we live a block away from each other, I am going to personally kick you in the A$$ if you don't get this painted by Christmas :evil: I have the front and rear safaris if you need them. I think the dove blue would compliment your color pallate :wink:

If it was just a lack of effort stopping me it would have been done 6 months ago.

My buddy is going to paint the bus.

I am in the queue to get the bus painted. Currently I am behind two other cars a 63 Vette and a 67 mustang conv. and then my bus. :D

We are finally seeing some better weather and I've read through your entire thread again. Motivating many of us! Keep it up, man! It's going to be amazing.

I've been working on mine a bit and have been driving it more. Stop by if you are out and about. Always home brew available?
