I saw a really cool Westy this couple had a ham radio in and tons of solar panels. That is just amazing to me! It is inspiring to see all modifications and the ways you can make them such unique vehicles. I am bummed I never got to see Paul Curtis's table modification on his Adventurewagen.

For the purist I totally get it...the look of keeping it stock. I appreciate those buses just as much as those that have been customized. I love them all and appreciate ANYONE who puts the time and energy and love into anything.

What a great turn out the LBB got this year. The diveristy was the best part. Who knew you could do so much with so many types of dubs. I was happy to sleep in my Westy and not the singlecab...I was warm and comfortable and wouldn't trade that for anything.

Does anyone know if there were any long sleeve BBB shirts left??

VTO-1 wrote: Ariel shot taken by our friend Rich Super who flew out of Redlands to check out the show. My two cents, I like baywindow buses and vanagons. Ive owned a 68 and have contemplated owning another. At the show I had a long conversation with a cool guy who had the mother of all solar panels on his vanagon (wedge?). The thing was cool. I wouldn't mind having one. They all have different things about them that make them stand out. It was an awesome campout with lots of great people regardless of what they were driving. To tell the truth, I dont think it would be half as cool of a show without the diversity. A couple of our members have late buses besides there early buses. They appreciate that there are shows where they can bring them.

Thanks bro, I was curious how you guys were getting that shot....And times three on your 2 cents....They are all different and each add their own karma to the show.... Can't wait till BBB 15....Maybe I can score a wedgeee before then...hehehehe :P

I know there are a few people that wanted to see my photos from the event. Here they are.

The best way to view them is to click the little slide show icon near the navigation arrows at the bottom and just flip through using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

tilt/shift or just a wide angle?

jennyt Tue Jan 26, 2010 12:40 pm

Wow--rustybus...great pics. Excellent representation of vehicles, people, merch tables, nightlife, daylife...nice to see a few burningman folks coming out in the wintertime, too...

rustybus Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:31 pm

I wish I had a tilt/shift. This is just a wide angle. Glad people like the photos. I'm trying to get better at sharing them. I've got friends that have been asking when they'd see such and such photos for years. Hopefully after I get back from the Shasta Snow Trip I'll get around to posting links to all of my existing bus photo albums, as well as any future ones so they can be seen in one place. I seem to remember getting some great shots at the Classic last year I have yet to post.

If only they were 'right-click, save'able...for personal use of course.

If there is a specific one you want Eric let me know and I can probably hook you up with a copy.

You did a fine job with these! I didn't expect to see your BBB XIV stuff until at LEAST BBB XVII ;-)
Great pix Richard, MAHALO.
P.S. I can't bring myself to show the flying baby pix to Jasmine... I love 'em though!!!

I think Richard charged her for those shots- there were like 100 of just her.

Seriously, great pics. I was digging through my garage last weekend and found my tri-pod!!!

I would take 3 of them if that helps...but I know reorders can be expensive so no worries if it doesn't happen. Kudos to the design!

Those particular photos started out when Dave L. from the ABC requested I shoot Miss European Bug In for the cover of the club newsletter. Everyone in the club knows how David likes to have a bus with a girl standing in front of it for the cover. It just took a lot of shots to get just the right image for the newsletter cover ;)

Richard, thanks for the great pictures. YOU photographed BBB as it should

be, it's like you were there even if you weren't there. Think you alone will

increase attendance next year with your great pictures. Everyone will

want to attend so they won't miss anything, and all will want to get in your

pictures. Thanks again for the great work.

VWHoward Tue Jan 26, 2010 5:20 pm

Looking for the guy who won 2nd in the Chilli Cookoff. I have your red

chair cover ( it was turned in after BBB was over). Anyone know who was

2nd?? ( Ronnie lost results) Pmail me with address or if you know

who was 2nd.

Cory B. if you are still reading this thread...thank you for send that '64 - '67 door limiter and I'll now be working on a map pocket version for the '64 - '67 Buses!

Thank you!

splitpile Thu Jan 28, 2010 4:21 pm

Just for you Crofty, as you can see splits far outnumbered all others combined. The count was taken off of all the registration cards that were turned in. 208 people turned in cards out of over 250 given out. Add another 15 or so splits belonging to the crew and staff of LBB and another 20 or so that didn't register (came in late) and that would make approx 184 split window buses. I'm sure this was our second biggest BBB to date after BBB X, hope to make #15 the biggest ever.

2 Euro's
149 Splits
23 Vanagans
21 Bays
5 bugs.
1 Thing
5 Type 2's
1 Squareback
1 Rialta camper
6 Syncro's
The count according to the regis cards

visket Thu Jan 28, 2010 4:25 pm

Brain twist!

21 Bays
5 Type 2s

Must... get... a... drink....

visket Thu Jan 28, 2010 4:31 pm

Hey kids - let's do some MATH, shall we?

149 Splits
21 Bays

There were 7 Bays in the Top 20. There were 11 Splits in the Top 20.

7/21 = 33% of Bays made the Top 20
11/149 = 13.5% of Splits made the Top 20.

'Nuff said?

Mike
