I saw a green, I think, Deluxe 13window down by St. Andrews?? Coffee Shop by East High School here in Denver. It had a roofrack, westy windows, all the Deluxe trimming, very very nice bus. Oh, and I see mine everyday :D peace, -Ian

I saw a guy in a burgundy and white deluxe with roof rack & ladder, lowered in Newberg a few days ago... Is he on the samba? I was in my green 63 beetle. Flashed the "V" at him..

Spotted what I believe was a Dove Blue Double Cab on I-24 eastbound just outside Nashville, TN. It was about 8:30pm and I was headed home in my wifes Quest (I Know I should have been in my Bus). I spot these tail lights that look to me like early Bus lights, and sure enough it's a '67 double cab doin' about 65. Chrome wheels, Chrome bumpers, temp. Florida paper tag in the rear window. We check him out, and he makes a move to get off at the exit before ours, for gas. So, we follow him, (we don't see many of these in Tennessee). I know he thought we were nuts, and we are. I hop out, and start asking about his car. He was heading to Sarasota, from Indiana, he was still in that driving haze you have after you've been on the road alone for hours. He had to keep his Dbl Cab running while he fueled 'cause he was having trouble with his starter. Hope I wasn't too much of a pain, I did'nt get his name, told him I owned a '67 Deluxe. Maybe he'll recognize this story, and give a reply. It was a clean looking split screen Dbl Cab. Hope you made it to Florida!

Shit, I wake up and I see 4 Split Buses before I leave the house. If I go to Bobilicious' house I see a couple more. If I head the other way towards 10 Foot's house, I see a '60 23. My world is full of Early Buses. Guess that's cause I'm in the VW Capital of the World, Southern California.

Hey it was cool to meet you Salty. That was the first time I'd met a Samba member on the street. You didn't scare me, that was just the furthest thing from my mind being recognized while fighting for a parking space in downtown Portland. lol Great idea for a thread BTW.

Ian......the bus you saw, did it have a poptop? Was all one color green and have luggage in the rack on top? If so it is a friend of mine. I live in Denver too. If you were on Parker road yesterday you would have seen my yellow 67 going down the street being towed to the state patrol for a VIN check (for title) :o

Ghia bus guy, ya, I think so. It was all chromed out and really nice. I remember thinking that I had never seen a Deluxe pop-top. Got pictures of it? I can confirm it then. peace, -Ian

I saw a lowered standard in gray/beige driving south on I-5 the other day, maybe a week or so ago near Everett. I followed it about 10 miles - super sweet ride. Is he on Samba? Would love to chat about busses since he's close!

Just saw another one... this one was a blue and white 13 window standard or kombi on Stone Way in Seattle, parked next to a tavern - beautiful except had a patch job where an old door handle might have been on the drivers' side door? I only drove past, wanted to put a note on it to say Hey and ask if they were lookin' to sell... Samba member?
