| I think the only problem chucks running into with that trim set is a tank big enough to dip them in. Speaking of chroming do you know a good chromer I would like to get my latches and other stuff done!! |

Yustrn, When did you pick up that vert? Is that why you got rid of the TJ Taxi?
Carlos, I didn't know you live in Highland Park.
Here's my '56, I am trying to bring it back down for the classic this year.

great topic for sure !
and like twinwindows and wiggy stated all oval verts had one piece rear deco trim for the convertible top that resides under the rear window
chuck is charging $650 for the complete kit izzy  damm I gotta get me two kits for sure !
Also all oval verts up untill early 56 had zerk grease fittings screwed into all 4 door hinge pins for acess to grease the hinge due to Kabriolet doors being heavier than sedan doors abd vw thought it would be a good idea to keep those hinges greased
Also if you had xerk fitting hinges you also had hinge covers also. if I'm not mistaken there were early and late style fittings and covers
1953 verts came with 25 hp engines 1954 to 1957 came with 36 hp engines but 54 and 55 engines are very different in thier stlye of parts used (details)
Productions figures were somewhat slim per year with I think the most built was 56 or 57 with around 5,000 units built
53 to 55 had large logo SEKURIT 56 to 57 had small logo sekurit glass
and many other stuff  |

Thanks For the info I also have a 54 euro vert! I had to weld the holes in the fenders and aprons back up no big deal Im in the process of putting my frames and glass back together. Does anybody Know where I can get a big serkurit :D drivers door glass :?: Mine broke in my hands It was not a good day the seals where dryrotted to the glass ! just a difficult task. You where mentioning 54 and 55 having differences in the 36 hp what where they ? Also did the oil filler tube use the clip type? I have the strap over air cleaner that came with my 36 . So from what you telling me my 54 came with a 36 :?: |
