Your replacing the front fenders? Isnt your car supposed to have bullets?
Whats wrong with the hood?

Thanks!!

Yes, I'm replacing the front fenders and yes, they supposed to have bullets. The one on the car now are aftermarket fenders with adapted bullets and the hood is a later model (mid '60s). I got a hold of original bullet fenders in great condition & original 4 tab/5 holes front hood also in great conditon. Rear apron is also aftermarket and I'm replacing it with a original solid H-apron that need very minor work.

markm wrote: Yustrn, When did you pick up that vert? Is that why you got rid of the TJ Taxi?

Yeah this is the reason the Taxi is getting sold.....I still have it as I was able to get both cars at the same time so I can do some "Re-Arranging" of parts.

The color of my vert is Bambus or Bamboo as it's referred to by the common folks of America 8)

Not the same UZI you can tell as this guy is asking questions not giving answers as the one and only GP would do.

The carpet is german square weave from Wolfsburgwest and I installed it. The only thing I would suggest is that you special order the luggage tray piece a little longer. I bought the kit and found that the luggage tray carpet piece fell short:

So I called and they sent me a piece to blend in to length I wanted:

I sent my painted seat frames and springs to West Coast Classics for seat cover installation and they came out perfect.

Check the WW website for the carpet $$$ and call Lenny for a quote on seat covers/door panels and seat cover installation.

Let's get this thread back on track and not talk about people, let's talk cars, especially early verts!

FRK Wed Feb 11, 2009 11:10 am

OK, How about the door glass & the rear quater window glass, Are they the same up to what year? Can '58, '59 fit with no problems on a '56, 57 or even a '55?

EMPIFLAKE Wed Feb 11, 2009 2:37 pm

Yes FRK the glass is the same except the logo well Im sure about the door glass anyway because I matched a 58 to my og pass side and their the same! :D

Thanks Mike!

Once I receive all the og side glass I can sell my to a buddy of mine. He has a '58 vert. BTW, the glass I have right now doesn't have logos.

EMPIFLAKE Thu Feb 12, 2009 5:13 am

FRK just wonderin if you have any future plans to lower it and run wheels on that 55? The car looks great I just keep pictureing it with some alloys

FRK Thu Feb 12, 2009 6:50 am

Well,
For a small period of time I ran 5 spokes. I know I needed a narrow beem but since my plans were whaitewall I didn't put one.

FRK Thu Feb 12, 2009 6:52 am

Then I took the 5 spokes off and put fuchs on 8x16 on the rear and 4.5x15 on the front. Just ran those for about a month.
