If you order a VW birth certificate it should tell you.

I don't think it works if you have a super because I've seen a lot of people say that plus it said my super was a standard also. |

Flat-screened, hardtop Supers (1302's from 1971-72 model years) are indistinguishable from standard Beetles by VIN. Convertibles starting in the 1971 model year and curved-screened Supers (1303's) can be distinguished because all of the former were Supers and all of the latter were 11-something if a standard and 13-something if a Super.
However, I have never heard of a birth certificate being wrong about the 1971-72 hardtops.
If a birth certificate said Super and the car is actually a standard (or vice versa), I'd be suspicious initially about a VIN swap. |

Alright according the this info my car was made in August of 69...but it's a 1970....there are 2 different wiring diagrams for 1970....
So I should use the one that says 1969-70 and not 1970-71..
How can I tell for sure which one is the right one...is there something I can look for in the diagram? |
