That's what I was thinking. :D
Seriously though, I don't think that is an OG color, at least not for a Type 3. |

L512. Velvet Green. It was a 1965 T-3 color.
I owned one back in the 70's. Nice color. |

I got some touch up paint in L512 Velvet Green. It's a couple of shades lighter than what's on the car. Is there any vw greens that are slighter darker? |

Then try a Java Green (L-518). It is darker than Velvet Green.
But Java was never used on Type 3's.
In 66 they had a Delta Green (L-610)
and in 68 they had a Peru Green (L-60B)
and they had Deep Sea Green (L-66B)
Deep Sea Green is almost black.
Go through the paint chips that are in the Technical section of The Samba. |

That looks like L-60B Perugruen on my monitor. Velvet Green is about a shade lighter.
Peru is one of my faves. Look at BerT3's NOS '68 Fast build thread for lots of pics of Peru Green. |

Thanks for the replies...Tram - yeah think you might be right with L-60B Peru.
Problem is...you find one colour that looks to match and then another that looks totally different. So much variation with differing cameras, it's hard to decifer. |

What happened to those headlights? I had to look twice. Beetle? Mercedes? |

here's my 68 peru green for reference (ignore the darker rear fender... it has clear coat over the OG peru green so it looks darker)
