ok lemmy show ya. this is what im saying.... flipping the trans upside down will not work... the reason people flip the trans upside down is because they dont want to flip the gear... this is because they have a vw engine in the car. when you put the trans backwards the the trans is going to spin the same way as normal only now that is backwards do to the tranny being in the car backwards. that is with a vw engine. now say you have a honda engine that spins the wrong way.... well you put it in your car and you got yourself 4 gears goin backwards.... well you take that trans and you mount it backwards,,, well now you got yourself 4 gears forward you see. is kinda simple i guess?

So, This thing is looking too fuggin cool. Seriously.
Of course, mine will be WAY cooler, but if I had to trade my car for another, yours would at least be 4th on the list of potential trades... :D |

okay.... Rear engine it will remain.... I am skeptical that I can build a bug trans strong enough to withstand it.... Guess I will have to go back to good old fashion throttle cable lengthening until I can afford the big trans...
Guess I'll have to sell that 767 I have parked out back |

| so I have used mild steel before for radiator lines, and obviously they rusted, (guess the car lasted longer than I expected) So on this build I am looking to use an alternate metal..... Any ideas on how different metals react to coolant? I will ground the lines of course, but aluminum? stainless? galvenized? Any thoughts as to which would be preferable? |

| I've used aluminum for short distances in moving coolant. I've never used a piece of tube longer than 3 inches though. |
