good to meet you -- I bought a sticker from you at your table and you came by and talked about Type 3's....

always good to meet new people....

Yep, I remember. Good to meet you too. Thanks for putting up with all my questions. Think you helped make me closer to being a Type 3 person. My 9 month old sure is.

You said it, Adam

Definitely worth the long trip. I'll be back next year.

We need to make our Samba names more visible -- I know I met most of y'all at the show -- but I don't know who you are when I get back up here on the forums.

I didn't take very many pics, but here's the link -- take a look: http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii50/dsgarvie/Tulsa%202009/

Glad you liked the Tulsa show Scotty. Thanks for the pics too. Another VW show went by that I didn't take a single pic at.

I really enjoyed the show. The DJ played alot of great songs and the weather, cars, and people where great. Also, if anyone has found a twin size air mattress made by Coleman please let me know.

Whos green double cab was that? I loved that ride, it had great style.

That was Waylon's green DC from Noble, OK. Can't remember his last name.

That is definitely a badass DC!

Who had the time? I think you and I finished judging one minute before the awards ceremony.

Interesting for sure. He said it was painted in 1978. He also said the camaro front discs just slipped right onto the original front spindles.

The folks who put the engine raffle together did an incredible job. I want to apologize for them not being recognized properly during the awards presentation - the slide didn't get shown as intended.

So, here's a big THANK YOU to the following:

• Der German Imports, Tulsa OK
• Carter Davis Machine, Tulsa, OK
• T&H Transmission, Tulsa, OK
• M&M Manufacturing Inc, Tulsa, OK
• Polks Bug Shop, Muldrow, OK
• Action Imports, Bossier City, LA
• Darrell’s Auto
• Roy Rogers Import Auto Parts, Little Rock, AR
• Dead End Air-Cooled, Tulsa, OK
• Joey Berklacy
• Mike Potteiger
• Richard James
• Duane Voss

Extra Special thanks to Jim Anderson for heading up this engine build, taking the engine to Eureka Springs to build interest and making this a success!

And obviously, if I missed anyone, it is not intentional. Please feel free to speak up and be recognized.

OK, Lets also thank Mr. Pete Sottnik for arriving early and voluteering to sell tickets for both the engine and the 50/50 pot , any monies raised all go to charity :D ....The engine went to Eureka Springs as a model to showcase the aluminum accessories manufactured and sold by MST aka M&M Machine of Tulsa, Thanks Kenny....

After the drawing I talked to the winner and she needed help with the transportation and installation so last Tuesday her husband and I started at 4 pm and finished around 6 and thats a installing a new clutch and pressure plate along with a seal around the bellhousing and some wiring repairs.... I ended up taking the engine home and we did the install here then had a pizza cause I'm really an old softy....She drove her car home with a smile on her face..........

As for next year???? If the club decides to do it again someone else can head it up and I'd be willing to help them in a smaller role....Sour grapes???? not really but a few people showed their ass when asked to help or donate time money or parts and thats maybe just human nature
anyway who ever takes this task on line up your sponsors beforehand and don't count on the local parts store to help....... He is still checking with his wife to see if its ok to help :D

Reread the list of people and businesses, give them your business as many of them stepped up without hesitation......This thread is dead but I wanted to let you know where the motor went, So thanks and we'll see you later

Jim Anderson-
